This is a popular board game for two persons, that is played (unless you have some new approach to the concept of it) with dice and b&w checkers. Each person has 15 checkers as the game begins, and the objective is to make sure no checkers of yours stay on the board. The game is so ancient it might actually be as old as 3000 years - definitely more than many of us put together.

The board itself has 24 tirangles and is divided into 4 quadrants, each carrying six such triangles in it. Each player has a so called “home board” separated by a bar from the “outer board” that is the home board of the the other player. The game begins with throwing a die - whoever gets the highest number gets to move first, already having a number for his move (the sum of both dice numbers). The checkers sre spread on the board and from now on you want to move all your checkers to your home board only to remove them from there later (to bear off).

Important: during the game you can land on your rival’s checkers in this way taking them out of the game - it will be placed on the bar separating your “homes”. Before the other player can start moving his checkers that piece of his on the bar must first be re-entered into the game. As it was mentioned, the objective is to bear off all your checkers.
