Online gambling dilemma

January 11th, 2008

If you ever have a doubt about whether online casinos are popular – here are some statistics for your consideration: every week around 2 million people visit one of the great number of online casinos (over 1,800), making this industry one of the fastest-growing ones.
Online gambling at the same time is very hard to regulate, because they are operated offshore, unlike those land-based casinos anywhere else. This provides them with wider range of freedom, at the same time it means if it starts exercising too much freedom there is almost no way to stop it. One of the most serious problems reported in connection with that freedom is underage gambling- according to the recent research over two thirds of teenagers aged 13-17 said they had tried gambling, although this is illegal.
Although some might argue that was out of pure curiosity and might have never been tried again, others can say: and what if it was tried and not once? Online gambling is a fun way of spending time and experience that sensory acuity, until it is done by adult people who are able to control themselves. When it comes to teenagers, measures should be taken to cut access of underage gamblers to online casino sites.

Go for the best…?

January 11th, 2008

Today on the internet you can find so many sites that give their own ratings of online casinos – always the best ones, of course. These are assembled into charts with ratings by their names and possibility of following the link and started gambling straight away.
However, if you are already gambling on one site or just found something you think is worth an effort, don’t be upset if you don’t find that casino in any of the charts. These are of course helpful if you have no clue about what to do, where to look and how to start, however, it’s virtually impossible to check out each and every online casino and choose just 10 or 15. There is a lot of competition in that niche, and you can be sure new casinos open every day offering each time more and more exciting benefits for you as their client.
Besides, let’s not forget about the human factor – the charts are made by people, who are often guided by their personal considerations and tastes, choosing into the chart the online casinos they like to visit, or the ones with the best design and handy features – so the best you can do here is a bit of research. IOW, if you want something done – better do it yourself.

What can you hope for when you gamble online?

December 28th, 2007

Yeah, so speaking about what people expect from the online casino they chose? It’s very sad but not too often their expectations are real enough… It’s just very different with casinos, that’s all. If you make a bunch of New Yer resolutions and can force yourself into not buying tobacco or liquior anymore, gaming isn’t about how much you can do, it’s about how lucky you are today, that moment or that instant. Don’t get too inspired when you hear about someone hitting jackpot in a Las Vegas Casino, the man was lucky. Are you sure the fortune is still there? Maybe it went all the way to the Middle East to help people stop the war and escae being blown up? Just like with everything, helthy gambling has to do with your clear goals; clear also spells “real”. The original purpose of casinos - both online and ground-based - is to entertain, besides earning some money too. Those are mistaken who seriously consider that a way of making money, as it’s no stable at all. One day you lose, then you win , then you lose again, then you stop counting and start counting only the cases when you win, thinking, wow, I’m running a cool surplus.

The main thing one should always keep in mind is that entertainment is okay until it controls you and your thoughts instead of you being in charge of everything. Get the fun you need but be able to withdraw as soon as you undersatnd it is getting into something more serious. You definitely should hope for the best, but always expect you luck to leave you - it often tends to do that to all of us.

What kind of people enjoy online gambling?

December 28th, 2007

Or, in other words, who are these potential online gamblers scouring every page for a good no deposit offer? Well, to tell the truth, there isn’t actually a common portrait of such a gambler - this sphere is still awaiting the attention of scientists and their multiple polls. However, if we think logically (and you can give me a hand here if you can) that’s what we get: a man with average to low income, with family problems o very often without family and therefore, without problems connected with it :), calm, sometimes insecure and quite optimistic. During the day he might be working somewhere as a vehivle operator, or a cashier, ad when he  comes home in the evening there is his old HP waiting for him (and the TV of course).  So, very often gambling is a form of getaway from problems, routine, misunderstanding, difficulties - anything that happens, any feelings that are out of place. By no means I want to say there’s something bad - some drink, do drugs, beat their wives and can even kill to get rid of stress. Another interesting thing we shouldn’t forget is that such an image of an online gambler can’t be true for everyone, just because everyone imagines himself a unique personality. Speaking of uniqueness, there is a cute poem about that: “Always remember that you are unique/ Unequalled, uncommon, c’est manifique/ One of a kind, very special and rare/ Singular, only, not one of a pair.// All the great and exceptional you embody/ You are really unique, just like everybody”. So, even if that sounds strange because you are a manager in a good company - remembe, we are taking the average value here. And, of course, there are many more reasons apart from getting rid of that emotional weight on your chest. Some people just like to spend their money - get over it, it’s up  them as long as they control their actions! The only thing I am kinda skeptical about is the dreams of some to win big amounts of money at once, quit their job and be rich and happy…

Is there such a thing as “free casino”?

December 27th, 2007

So, everyone knows there are no free things in life (if you don’t - just know it). We have to pay for everything, and sometimes even have to tip for whatever reason that happens - even if there was nothing extraordinary. However, can a casino be free?

Well, technically speaking, yes, and if we are speaking about online casinos, it’s what characterizes them very often - you can play those no deposit games without paying before, and actually win some money, which surprisingly you can get! However, the ultimate goal of these casinos is to get you interested by showing you that in small amounts gambling can be fun and again, if you do it wisely it doesn’t cause you to sell your house and divorce your wife. So, as you can see nothing supernatural - you see it’s ok, and next time if you feel like going for higher stakes you agree to pay and get a better chance to win, more money, more interest. It’s in human nature to want more.

As for the real ground-based casinos - na-uh, there are no freebies. You have to pay before you get down to any action, and although that does give you more reality and maybe even more excitement - once you decided to gamble, be ready to spend money. In general, online casino is great if you don’t know if that’s something you might like, and give it a try without any finansial risk involved.
